I'm terrible at this whole blog thing

Trying to stay warm!

My little Santa Claus!

So sweet!
Wow, I have really let myself get really far behind on this blog. Things have been crazy. We are still living with my parents, but hopefully that will change over the Christmas break. The house looks amazing. I'm going to be so excited to see Carson's nursery all decorated and him actually have a bed to sleep in. Poor baby has been sleeping in his pack and play the last few weeks. He turned 4 months of the 4th. I can't believe he is growing so fast. He is 18 pounds and 28 inches long. (I know he is going to be a giant) He is the sweetest and happiest little boy. He has started eating baby food. I honestly don't think there is anything that he doesn't like. We started him on Formula yesterday. I was a little sad to stop nursing, but I'm glad that he is the one who decided that he didn't want to do it anymore. I will try to upload more photos later.

Halloween and Homecoming

Carson and I before the Baylor game! Isn't his outfit ADORABLE! My mom made it!

Tough bear ready to BEAT the tigers!

Walking at the parade. He was the cutest little boy there!

He had to change out of his bear costume and put his PJ's on for the Midway game

My sweet little boy in the pumpkins!
Wow this past weekend was CRAZY busy! Thursday we drove to San Antonio to pick up my sister in law. She was going to come back to Waco with us on Friday so we could watch my little sister in pigskin. Blake wasn't suppose to come home until very late Friday night. We got to San Antonio and Blake had called and said he was going to catch an early flights....SO we all drove back Friday together. Friday night Carson put on his bear costume and took some pictures and then changed into his pirate sleeper bc we were heading to the Midway game and then to Baylor for Pigskin.
Saturday we woke up early for the Parade. Carson put his bear outfit back on and this time put a Baylor shirt on over it. He was the CUTEST little boy there. I'm a little biased, but I promise you at least 30 people stopped us and told us how adorable he was. We came home from the parade and got ready for the game. Carson put on his outfit that his Mimi had made him for Baylor's homecoming. Once again he was ADORABLE!! Baylor played a tough game, but just couldn't pull it out in the end.
Sunday Zack and I went to Sunday school for the first time. We left Carson with someone other than my mom for the first time as well. I was very surprised when we arrived and there were only 5 babies including Carson in the baby room. I was relieved bc there were 4 Adults! We tried the Young Adults 1 class. We knew that they were going to be a little older than us, but that is the class with young kids. It was a good lesson and we really enjoyed it. HOWEVER they were quite a bit older and I think we are going to try the younger married class on Sunday.
Everyone knows what happened on Tuesday. I have come to terms with everything and can only pray that God leads our country during this time.
NEWS about the HOUSE!!! Our wood floors are IN!!! They are BEAUTIFUL!! I can't wait to go take pictures. Pretty much all that is left in carpet for the guest room and Carson's room, plumbling fixtures, countertops, appliance installation, and paint touch ups!!!

Mawmaw and Papa came

Mawmaw and Papa came to Waco on their way back to Arlington. She snapped a couple of pictures. I'm not sure why they are so small. I will try to figure it out later. I'm hitting the sack. Carson woke me up at 3:30 this morning. He was wiggling and making noises, but never really woke up. He just woke me up.

Carson in Action!

Here is Carson rolling....please excuse our silly voices (it just happens when you are talking to such a cute baby)

Slacking in the blog department

I have really been slacking in the blog department. I don't have any pictures to upload right now, but I will do that tonight. This post is just going to be words. Carson went to his 2nd Baylor game and he looked so CUTE! He wore his green Baylor overalls and his green and yellow John Deer boots that his Aunt Jessica and Uncle Blake got him. He also went to his first fair and rodeo. He slept most of the time, but he looked so cute doing it. He wore his pearl snaps and new boots his Mimi got him. We took him to the Dr. last Friday for his 2 month check up. He is weighing in at a whopping 15 pounds and measures 26.5 inches. He isn't on the percentile chart in any area. He was a big baby coming into the world and continues to grow.

Carson rolled over from back to tummy yesterday. I got home from work and he was laying on his quilt on the ground playing with his Daddy and he started to try to roll over. He has been able to get to his side for a while now, but not completely over. He got SO close so many times and I got the video camera out. He tried and tried and didn't do it. I decided I was going to take our clean clothes upstairs and as I was going up the stairs I said "He better not roll over while I'm putting our clothes away". I came downstairs and he was on his tummy. Everyone felt so bad that I had missed it. I got the camera out again and waited and he did it again. He is growing up so fast I can't believe that he is 2 1/2 months old. (I think Carson's eyes are going to be hazel like his Daddy)

I just need to add that Zack is an amazing dad and he does so much with Carson. He has changed more diapers than I have this last week. Any extra time he has he spends it with Carson. He has gone far and beyond any expectations I had. I didn't doubt that he would be an amazing father, it's just amazing to actually see him and the love that he has for our son. I don't think Carson could ask for a more devoted dad. Zack is CRAZY about that little boy. It makes my heart happy when I see them together.

Weekend

This weekend Blake and Jessica came into town. We all went to the Baylor game. Zack and I only stayed for the first half. Apparently we missed out on some rowdy OU fans after the game. That night Zack and I got to go to the Kevin Fowler concert. It was a lot of fun. We got to chat with people we haven't seen in a while. On Sunday we watched football all day. It was a great relaxing day, then it was back to work this morning.

Missing this face!

I miss this sweet little boy's face. Work was fine this week. I'm ready to get back in the swing of things and to see all of my kiddos. I can tell I'm really going to LOVE my Fridays with my sweet family. YEAH for the end of my work week!!

Working Mom

I am going back to work tomorrow. A couple of years ago I didn't think I wanted children, then I decided that I could be a mom but NEVER a stay at home mom. Work is quickly approaching and I'm wanting to be that stay at home mom now. I know that this is not a possibility for us right now, but hopefully someday I will be able to stay home with Carson. Until then I get to go back to work and see my other kids! I have mixed emotions about going back. Should I be excited to go back and see my kids or should I be sad to leave Carson. I thought that I would be a total wreck to leave him, but then I think about all of my sweet kids at school and I feel at peace. I think that God has really given me a very rewarding job. I love the people that I work with and the children that I get to spend my days with. I know that tomorrow isn't going to be an easy day, but I think that I'm going to be okay. I'm so blessed to have my mom, who is going to keep Carson while I'm at work. She is an amazing mom and she has taught me so much the last 8 weeks. I know that Carson is going to have a great day tomorrow with her. Please keep us all in your prayers and we embark on the "Working Mom" adventure.

Concert

Zack and I are going to leave our sweet little boy for the first time tonight. It had to happen sometime and I needed to do it before I go back to work. We are going to the Heart of Texas Fair Gala tonight. Clay Walker is performing! He is special to Zack and I bc that was the first concert we went to together. So...wish us luck. I hope we can have some much needed Mommy/Daddy time.

Weekend

Here are my boys watching the Cowboys play. Hopefully they will win again this week. Carson has been having some fussy nights. He goes through a fussy time almost every evening. It is almost always when Zack gets home from the bank. We like to call it his crying hour. It isn't what Zack would want to come home to, but he usually is fine after dinner. Carson slept from 8:30 to 6:30 last night. It was a much needed solid night of sleep for Zack. He has been working a lot lately. It takes him away from Carson and it is really taking a tole on Zack. I am thankful for how hard he works with the business and in school. We just have to stick through a couple more semesters with him going to school. I think once he is done I'm going to try to go back for grad school.

I went and took pictures of the house this weekend. I need to figure out how to put pictures on a slideshow on here. Things are moving along....but not moving along fast enough. It's getting very frustrating. I just want to be able to live in the house we bought almost 3 months ago. I know once it is done we will love it and it will be "our" home. I'm just ready to have Carson's nursery done. He is getting big for his bassinet. Pray that our house gets done in a timely manner.

FINALLY!!!!

Carson FINALLY lost his umbilical cord!!! YEAH for bath time tonight! I will post pictures....Hopefully he won't scream his head off anymore.

6 weeks

Here is Carson after his bath time. He hates taking a bath. I'm hoping that he will start to like them when he can finally be in the water. We still have to be careful with his umbilical cord still being attached.

I can't believe that Carson was born 6 weeks ago today! He has grown so much! He is smiling and cooing. He is absolutely adorable. We want to get his picture made but we are still waiting for his umbilical cord stump to fall off......yes you read that right he STILL has it. We went to the Dr. last Weds and she said that he was just trying to set a record. If he hasn't lost it by Weds of this week we have to go back in and she will give us some meds to help it come off. My mom informed me that she didn't lose hers for a long time as well. She actually had to have hers removed in the Dr's office. I am hoping that he doesn't have to do that. Please pray that it will come off in the next two days.

News from the house....we are still waiting. Things are starting to really come along though. I will take pictures today or tomorrow.

3 Weeks Old

We are a little late on our 3 week pictures...but here they are. Thank you Aunt Caitlin for taking my picture!! We miss seeing you everyday!

2 1/2 weeks old!

Carson is about 2 1/2 weeks old and I can't believe has been here for that long. He is such a good little boy. We are starting to get somewhat of a routine down. He usually only gets up once a night to eat. It has been pretty nice. Don't get me wrong we have our nights when he is up almost all night, but for the majority he sleeps really well. I'm really sad that I am going to have to go back to work. I never thought that I would want to be a stay at home mom, but I'm starting to see why people don't want to come back to work. I love being at home with Carson and sometimes just watching him while he sleeps. Staying at home is not a possibility for me right now. Maybe when Zack finishes school I can stay home.

In other news....our chihuahua Gus had to have some pretty serious surgery this past week. He started acting funny about a week after Carson was born. I went and saw him at the duplex and he acted a little better, but by the end of last week he still was not acting like himself. Zack took him to the vet and it was decided that he had a pinched nerve. Saturday, Gus' back legs stopped working. He didn't move them at all. Our vet is closed on Saturdays, so we had to wait until Monday morning. Zack called me when he got done at the vets office on Monday morning and told me that things didn't look good. The vet told him that we could either take Gus to a surgeon in Austin for emergency surgery or we were going to have to make a decision about putting him down. We decided to take him to the Austin vet. He had his surgery and got to come home yesterday. He has a 6 inch incision on his spine and is having to do some serious rehab. We take him back in 2 weeks to have the stitches removed and he will see the physical therapist that day as well.

For everyone who is keeping up with the house....We are making progress. It is not enough to move in yet, but it is progress. I don't go over there as often anymore, mostly bc of Carson. We have been staying at my parents house since Carson came home from the hospital. It has been amazing the help that we have gotten. My parents are saints for taking us in, and even more of saints for taking our dogs in as well. I love being here, but it's hard at the same time. I feel like my dad is going crazy. He is a very organized person and with a baby you can only be so organized. All of Carson's stuff is driving him crazy. I'm sure that he is ready for his life to go back to normal. I really wanted to be moved into our house by the time I go back to work, but I'm just not sure if that is going to happen. It would be great if we were, but if we're not we have a great place to stay.

Here are Carson's two week pics!

I think that his hair is getting a little lighter. He is such a cute little boy...I'm a little bias though.

Dr. appointment

We had our first dr's appointment today. Carson got to see Dr. Barron for the first time. She is great and really made Zack and I feel good about everything that we have been doing. Carson is now down to 8.4 lbs. She said that it was a good weight and he was within the normal range of weight loss for an infant. She wasn't concerned about his jaundice. She said that his Billy Ruban score wasn't bad enough to even need more blood work done. We are just suppose to watch his skin color and if it gets more yellow to call her. Here is a picture of my handsome man.
Here are the two most important men in my life!!

Carson Brooks Miller

Carson made his appearance on Monday, August 4th at 4:47 p.m. He was a very healthy boy weighing in at 9.5 pounds and a whopping 22 inches long. I started having contractions around 8:00 Sunday night. I tried to go to bed and around 11:30 Zack and I decided that we should probably get the car seat ready to go even if nothing happened because Weds would be here before we knew it. We both decided that we would try to get some sleep. Zack fell right to sleep and I laid in bed until about 2:45 with these contractions. Finally I paged the Dr. and she told me to go ahead and head to the hospital. We got to the ER around 3:15 and were in our room in Labor and Delivery by 3:30. They got my IV in and I was settled in and they offered me my epidural. I decided that I was going to wait and get it when the Dr. came by in the morning. I didn't want to slow anything down. I was in A LOT of pain by the time the Dr. came. My dad stopped by before his C-section and pretty much told me I was an idiot for not getting my epidural earlier and getting some sleep. I decided that I had had enough pain and got my epidural around 8:30. Things were FANTASTIC after that. The epidural didn't hurt either. I was afraid it was going to be terrible, but it wasn't. The rest of the day went by fairly fast. The Dr. came at 4:10 to check me and we were ready to start pushing. At 4:47 Carson made his appearance. Once again pushing wasn't bad either. I am shocked at how smoothly things went. We are out of the hospital now and had our first night with no nurses. It went pretty well. Zack had to do some of the patrol route last night so my mom took Carson until about 1:00 when Zack was able to get back. He slept and ate pretty well. We are still trying to get used to eachother. Carson has his first Dr's appointment today at 2:15. We will update later this week with what they say. Until then Zack and I will be loving on our little boy!!

There is light at the end of the Tunnel!

Carson Brooks Miller’s Notice of Eviction!
If you have not made an appearance before August 6, 2008 you will be evicted from your current residence!
Oh my sweet little Carson....the time has come and you are going to have to come out of your safe place into this scary big world! We are so ready for you to be here. I have so many questions....who will you look like?? Will you be a paci baby or a thumb sucker? Will you have your daddy's persistant personality or will you be stubborn like your mom? I think we already know that you are somewhat stubborn. I watched the news last night and I can only imagine what our world will be like when you are grown. It scares me, but I know that your dad and I are going to raise you the best we can and you will be able to accomplish anything. I am so ready to meet you and hold you and your dad is too. We were at lunch today and I looked over at him and he had this huge grin on his face...I asked him what he was smiling about and he told me he was so excited to know that he was going to be able to meet you by next Weds. It was the sweetest thing. I keep imagining what he is going to look like holding you for the first time, and I'm finally going to get to see that. It brings me so much joy to know that your daddy loves you so much already! We are so blessed to have you joining us on our adventure of life and I pray everyday that God will guide us with our parenting. We love you little Carson and can't wait to meet you!

3rd Anniversary

First wedding anniversary!
2nd Wedding Anniversary
Today is the day that I married my best friend 3 years ago. I can't believe that it has really been that long. I have thought about everything that we have done over the past three years and can't believe we have been able to do so much. The first year that we were married we decided to buy Zack's security business. Let me tell you that has been a ride in itself. We are FINALLY starting to see the pay out. BUT we do own the business now, no more payments. I graduated during the 2nd year and started working a REAL job. It has been a fantastic and I love my job. We started out the 3rd year with a bit of dissapointment with the miscarriage, BUT it has only made us stronger and we are SO looking forward to meeting our son if he ever decides he wants to make his debut. We bought the house this year and have gutted the house, but it will truly be our home once it is done. Zack is taking me to dinner tonight to celebrate! I'm excited, this HOPEFULLY will be the last dinner with just Zack and I.

Progress

Our house has stone and a new mailbox!! It is a really pretty stone and I'm excited about the color that we were able to have in it!

This is our new garage door. It was two seperate ones. Zack's favorite part of this door is it's so quiet! Apparently if you have it on a belt rather than a chain it's quiet and it also has something to do with the motor.....ANYWAYS this is our new QUIET garage door!

Closer look at the front of the house! I love my little stone house!!!
New french doors in the back and new windows! The doors have the built in blinds! Who knew little things like that could be so exciting! The stone ledge will go all the way around the house and there will be stucco above it some day.

The back of our house with the new addition on it. We are adding almost 300 sq feet!!

Kind of blurry.....but the window that is going to be above my new bathtub. Don't worry it will be frosted and have blinds!

New addition....Doorway to the new bathroom and Zack's Closet!

The new windows that will go on either side of our bed.
My closet! I think it's huge! I def. will have to go through my stuff and only keep what is necessary. This could be great or it could be a disaster......more room....more stuff to pile in it!

Extra bedroom. This picture really doesn't give the new paint justice. The desk nook is done and I love the way it looks.
Guest bath.....I know you can't tell what anything is. The bathtub should be going in this week.
FINALLY Carson's room is done being painted! We had to start all over again because of some patching issues. Zack was sweet enough to paint the base coat and mom and I painted the stripes. Mind you it was a sight to see...bc literally I look like I'm about to POP! On that note, there is not really any news are the baby front. I went to the Dr. on Friday and she said that he is about 8 pounds right now and doesn't want to set a date for induction yet. :-( I walked out of her office and started crying. Poor Zack didn't know what to do with me. He could come any day now. We are just playing a waiting game (which sucks!) I was 3 cents dilated and 90% effaced SO pretty much I'm just waiting on Contractions to get things going! Please pray that he comes soon. I'm not sleeping at all and am pretty miserable!
