Zack and I are going to leave our sweet little boy for the first time tonight. It had to happen sometime and I needed to do it before I go back to work. We are going to the Heart of Texas Fair Gala tonight. Clay Walker is performing! He is special to Zack and I bc that was the first concert we went to together. So...wish us luck. I hope we can have some much needed Mommy/Daddy time.

Weekend

Here are my boys watching the Cowboys play. Hopefully they will win again this week. Carson has been having some fussy nights. He goes through a fussy time almost every evening. It is almost always when Zack gets home from the bank. We like to call it his crying hour. It isn't what Zack would want to come home to, but he usually is fine after dinner. Carson slept from 8:30 to 6:30 last night. It was a much needed solid night of sleep for Zack. He has been working a lot lately. It takes him away from Carson and it is really taking a tole on Zack. I am thankful for how hard he works with the business and in school. We just have to stick through a couple more semesters with him going to school. I think once he is done I'm going to try to go back for grad school. I went and took pictures of the house this weekend. I need to figure out how to put pictures on a slideshow on here. Things are moving along....but not moving along fast enough. It's getting very frustrating. I just want to be able to live in the house we bought almost 3 months ago. I know once it is done we will love it and it will be "our" home. I'm just ready to have Carson's nursery done. He is getting big for his bassinet. Pray that our house gets done in a timely manner.

6 weeks
Here is Carson after his bath time. He hates taking a bath. I'm hoping that he will start to like them when he can finally be in the water. We still have to be careful with his umbilical cord still being attached.

I can't believe that Carson was born 6 weeks ago today! He has grown so much! He is smiling and cooing. He is absolutely adorable. We want to get his picture made but we are still waiting for his umbilical cord stump to fall off......yes you read that right he STILL has it. We went to the Dr. last Weds and she said that he was just trying to set a record. If he hasn't lost it by Weds of this week we have to go back in and she will give us some meds to help it come off. My mom informed me that she didn't lose hers for a long time as well. She actually had to have hers removed in the Dr's office. I am hoping that he doesn't have to do that. Please pray that it will come off in the next two days.
News from the house....we are still waiting. Things are starting to really come along though. I will take pictures today or tomorrow.

2 1/2 weeks old!
Carson is about 2 1/2 weeks old and I can't believe has been here for that long. He is such a good little boy. We are starting to get somewhat of a routine down. He usually only gets up once a night to eat. It has been pretty nice. Don't get me wrong we have our nights when he is up almost all night, but for the majority he sleeps really well. I'm really sad that I am going to have to go back to work. I never thought that I would want to be a stay at home mom, but I'm starting to see why people don't want to come back to work. I love being at home with Carson and sometimes just watching him while he sleeps. Staying at home is not a possibility for me right now. Maybe when Zack finishes school I can stay home.
In other news....our chihuahua Gus had to have some pretty serious surgery this past week. He started acting funny about a week after Carson was born. I went and saw him at the duplex and he acted a little better, but by the end of last week he still was not acting like himself. Zack took him to the vet and it was decided that he had a pinched nerve. Saturday, Gus' back legs stopped working. He didn't move them at all. Our vet is closed on Saturdays, so we had to wait until Monday morning. Zack called me when he got done at the vets office on Monday morning and told me that things didn't look good. The vet told him that we could either take Gus to a surgeon in Austin for emergency surgery or we were going to have to make a decision about putting him down. We decided to take him to the Austin vet. He had his surgery and got to come home yesterday. He has a 6 inch incision on his spine and is having to do some serious rehab. We take him back in 2 weeks to have the stitches removed and he will see the physical therapist that day as well.
For everyone who is keeping up with the house....We are making progress. It is not enough to move in yet, but it is progress. I don't go over there as often anymore, mostly bc of Carson. We have been staying at my parents house since Carson came home from the hospital. It has been amazing the help that we have gotten. My parents are saints for taking us in, and even more of saints for taking our dogs in as well. I love being here, but it's hard at the same time. I feel like my dad is going crazy. He is a very organized person and with a baby you can only be so organized. All of Carson's stuff is driving him crazy. I'm sure that he is ready for his life to go back to normal. I really wanted to be moved into our house by the time I go back to work, but I'm just not sure if that is going to happen. It would be great if we were, but if we're not we have a great place to stay.
Here are Carson's two week pics!

I think that his hair is getting a little lighter. He is such a cute little boy...I'm a little bias though.Posted by The Millers at 10:56 AM 3 comments

Dr. appointment
We had our first dr's appointment today. Carson got to see Dr. Barron for the first time. She is great and really made Zack and I feel good about everything that we have been doing. Carson is now down to 8.4 lbs. She said that it was a good weight and he was within the normal range of weight loss for an infant. She wasn't concerned about his jaundice. She said that his Billy Ruban score wasn't bad enough to even need more blood work done. We are just suppose to watch his skin color and if it gets more yellow to call her. Here is a picture of my handsome man.
Here are the two most important men in my life!!
